Altana is the network for trusted trade. Our AI-powered product network empowers governments and businesses to build a more resilient and secure global economy while keeping trade flowing. The Opportunity at Altana As we scale our international government business in Europe, we're hiring a Solutions Consultant (internally part of our Sales Engineering / pre-sales team) to be the technical lead on Altana's work with customs authorities, finance ministries, and trade enforcement agencies across the EU. You'll bring deep domain expertise in government-side trade and customs — customs enforcement and modernization, sanctions and export controls, forced labor and supply chain due diligence, and CBAM — and translate that expertise into the technical sales work that wins deals: architecting solutions, running demos, closing new business, navigating complex stakeholder conversations, and shaping how Altana's platform meets the realities of European public sector customers. You'll partner closely with Sales, Product, Engineering, and Marketing, and act as the voice of the customer back to our product and engineering teams. This is a foundational hire as we establish our presence in the Netherlands. You Will Deeply understand international trade, economic security, and associated subject matter, Altana’s technology, and our customer base-and demonstrate effective communication with respect to each. Support the sales process to potential customers and existing customers in the customs and trade space–identifying new use cases to address stakeholder needs before they have articulated them. Become a power-user of the Altana platform, leveraging customer understanding, to produce and brief original, insightful analysis to help facilitate the sales cycle. Understand and contribute to the Altana product development process, including in collaboration with Altana product managers, data scientists, engineers, and customer-facing stakeholders. Engage in firm-building activities, helping to establish Altana’s presence in the European Union (e.g, recruiting, knowledge building / domain expertise development, etc.) You Have 5+ years experience in the international trade space, with strong knowledge of both existing customs and trade processes or economic security practices, as well as existing solutions in the open and commercial data environment. Experience working with and delivering software tools and frameworks is essential, technical skills, including using modern AI tools, is a major plus. Excellent presentation skills, with the ability to communicate effectively to both technical and executive audiences, whether it's an impromptu whiteboard discussion or a prepared presentation and demo. The ability to correlate a customer’s specific business problems with Altana’s solutions. Working knowledge of European Union or member state operations, or government procurement processes is a major plus. You possess a passion for tackling complex challenges within global trade. You are a business builder with the drive to establish Altana in the Netherlands, acting as a foundational piece for Altana’s European Union business. This role is based in the Netherlands with hybrid work flexibility. Candidates must be within commuting distance to Amsterdam. The recruiter assigned to this role can share more information about the specific compensation and benefit details associated with this role during the hiring process. Our Values Our values are the core beliefs that shape who we are, what we stand for, and how we behave. They form the foundation of Altana’s culture and integrity and guide how we hire, design, build, and connect with each other and our customers. Trust: Our customers and partners entrust us with missions of the highest importance. We rely on each other to deliver, to speak openly, and to hold ourselves accountable. Resilience:
