Anduril Industries is a defense technology company with a mission to transform U.S. and allied military capabilities with advanced technology. By bringing the expertise, technology, and business model of the 21st century’s most innovative companies to the defense industry, Anduril is changing how military systems are designed, built and sold. Anduril’s family of systems is powered by Lattice OS, an AI-powered operating system that turns thousands of data streams into a realtime, 3D command and control center. As the world enters an era of strategic competition, Anduril is committed to bringing cutting-edge autonomy, AI, computer vision, sensor fusion, and networking technology to the military in months, not years. Anduril Australia's Corporate Technology team runs the infrastructure and toolchains our engineers build on — across cloud and classified on-premises environments that support programs like the Extra Large Autonomous Undersea Vehicle (XL-AUV). We are looking for a staff-level reliability engineer who is authoritative across the whole estate and sets the standard the rest of the team calibrates against for how that infrastructure is run, kept reliable and accredited. You do not need to be a software engineer. You do need to be the person others build their designs from and the one who keeps reliability discipline honest across the team. WHAT YOU'LL DO Set the standard for how the estate is run, kept reliable and accredited — across cloud, orchestration, operating systems, networking and the application toolchain — and hold it consistent across rotations Be the source of design others build and run from, working at platform scale and anticipating second-order effects and organisational constraints Diagnose systemic reliability issues to the structural fix, across multiple classification domains, rather than the efficient patch Set the team's automation standard — exemplary code with deliberate, explained choices around safety, idempotency and maintainability (still scripting and automation, not production service development) Carry the estate's ISM/PSPF posture as the team's authority, setting how the team approaches accreditation across multi-domain environments Provide thought leadership that shapes how reliability and secure-toolchain practice is applied across the software, autonomy and Maritime engineering teams we partner with Mentor at depth and raise the whole team's bar across automation, systems design and infrastructure craft, teaching across any layer REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Around twelve or more years in infrastructure, reliability or platform engineering — demonstrated experience weighted over formal qualifications A trusted track record of running production toolchains and classified-domain infrastructure end to end, deep enough across several layers and conversant enough in the rest to set a team's standard Authoritative across both cloud-native (AWS, Terraform, Kubernetes) and classified on-premises (Windows, Active Directory, VMware, air-gapped) estates Real ISM/PSPF accreditation ownership and significant influence over how an estate is run Exemplary scripting and automation judgement, and the ability to set and hold an automation standard across a team Systems-design authority at platform scale, with clear communication of complex reliability and accreditation trade-offs to diverse audiences Australian citizen, able to obtain and maintain an Australian NV2 security clearance (existing NV2 or equivalent preferred) PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Deep experience in highly regulated environments (Defence or other Critical Infrastructure), setting accreditation approach across multi-domain environments A history of influencing reliability and secure-toolchain practice beyond your own team Experience mentoring senior engineers and setting team-wide standards for automation and infrastructure craft Software-engineering depth — for example production service development in Go, Rust or similar — is welcomed and ca
