Who We Are We build in small, autonomous squads. We default to action over process. We treat AI as core workflow, not a novelty. We care more about what you've shipped than where you studied. If you're the kind of person who prototypes before they present, ships before they ask permission, and earns trust by being close to the work, you'll fit here. What is a Product Lead? A Product Lead owns the product direction for a small, autonomous squad. You decide what to build, why it matters, and whether it worked. You're accountable for business outcomes, not just features shipped. What makes this role different from a traditional Product Manager? You don't write specs and hand them off. You prototype ideas with AI tools before committing engineering time. You contribute code for straightforward changes (copy, config, feature flags, simple UI updates) so you can unblock yourself and move faster. You work in Git daily, read PRs, and understand what shipped without needing a status meeting. The core job is still product judgment, discovery, and stakeholder alignment. But the technical bar is higher than a traditional PM role. You need to hold your own in architectural conversations, earn engineering's trust by being close to the work, and use AI coding tools as part of your daily workflow. This isn't a PM who codes full-time. And it isn't an engineering lead with product responsibilities bolted on. It's what we believe the best product person looks like in the AI era: someone who can own outcomes and move fast without waiting for handoffs. What We Expect Experience 5+ years in product management, product engineering, product design, or a hybrid building role Track record of shipping products that moved business metrics, not just features that launched Experience working directly with engineers as peers You've built something in production yourself Technical Fluency You can prototype a working concept using AI coding tools (Cursor, Claude Code, or similar) Comfortable with Git: cloning repos, creating branches, pushing commits, reading diffs You can read code well enough to follow what a PR does and ask good questions about it You understand system architecture at the level of "how do these services talk to each other" and "where does the data live" Product Fundamentals Strong discovery skills: you know how to identify the right problem before solving it Data literate: comfortable with SQL, dashboards, and experiment design Clear written communicator: you can write a one-pager that drives alignment without a meeting Stakeholder management across engineering, design, sales, and leadership Mindset High agency. You default to action over process. AI tools are core workflow for you, not a novelty Comfortable being the only non-engineer in the room and earning that room's trust Nice to Have CS, engineering, or technical degree Can produce near-production
