About GitGuardian GitGuardian is a global cybersecurity scale-up. The company is based in Paris, New-York City, Boston. Among our early investors who saw our market value proposition, are the co-founder of GitHub, Scott Chacon, along with Solomon Hykes , Docker's co-founder. American and European top-tier VC firms have also invested in GitGuardian. GitGuardian leads the way in Non-Human Identity security , offering end-to-end solutions from secrets detection in code, productivity tools and environments to strong remediation, observability and proactive prevention of leaks. Our solutions are already used by more than 600K developers worldwide! About your team and your mission You will lead the Incidents team, composed of 4 backend engineers, 1 Machine Learning engineer, and 1 Staff Engineer. The team owns a core concept in the GitGuardian application: incidents. Their scope is twofold, handling incident-related business logic and enriching the model with more information and context. Examples of ongoing projects: Risk score overhaul with LLMs: the current incident risk score lacks sophistication. The team is rethinking it by leveraging LLMs and AI pipelines to make it smarter and more reliable. AI-powered incident enrichment: designing and architecting an enriched incident lifecycle, integrating AI to automatically contextualize and complete incident-related information. Incident type unification: multiple incident types currently coexist in the product. The challenge is to consolidate them into a single unified model, a non-trivial architectural problem.` Your main responsibilities will be to: Lead and develop your team above all else: running 1:1s, giving feedback, supporting career growth, and creating the conditions for your engineers to do their best work. Own your team's delivery: from day-to-day unblocking to project planning, execution quality, and making sure the right things get shipped on time. Drive technical leadership: you are not just a people manager. You stay close to the technical work, challenge architectural decisions, and ensure the team maintains high engineering standards. Contribute individually, roughly 20 to 25% of your time: whether through code, technical documentation, or code reviews. A profile that only manages, without staying hands-on, is not what we are looking for. Technical environment Backend: Python + Django, Go, RabbitMQ, Redis DB: Elasticsearch (+ Kibana), PostgreSQL Frontend: React / Typescript Deployment: Docker, Terraform, AWS About you If you think you match at least 70% of these criteria, please apply! Here's what we consider essential for success in this role: You have at least 6 years of experience, with a solid background in backend development. You have a first experience managing a team of at least 3 people. You are comfortable with Python: you can read, review, and unblock your engineers on performance, code quality, and architecture topics. You have strong web development fundamentals and a good understanding of common architectures. You are hands-on by default: solution-oriented, able to prioritize, and ready to get into the code yourself when the situation calls for it. You connect technical decisions to business impact and know how to prioritize based on what truly matters for the product and the organization. You use AI in your engineering practices and can structure how your team leverages it, whether for development, code review, testing, or automation. You are fluent in English, both written and spoken. The following skills would strengthen your application but aren't required: You speak French. You have a strong business acumen and the ability to connect technical decisions to product or commercial outcomes. The interview process 1. Video call with a Talent Acquisition team member 2. Team interview / Interview with your future manager 3. Technical interview 4.1 Final interview with an Executive Manager 4.2 References check Benefits 💰 Package that includes BSPCE 🍜 Lu...
