BUILD A SAFER WORLD. TRM Labs provides AI-powered intelligence solutions that help public and private sector agencies investigate and disrupt crime. TRM's platforms enable investigators to trace illicit activity, build cases, and construct operating pictures of threat networks. Leading agencies and businesses worldwide rely on TRM to make the world safer and more secure. TRM Labs is building the world's most advanced blockchain intelligence platform. We're looking for an Engineering Manager, Data Science to own the platforms that power TRM's intelligence data products, from ingestion and processing to serving and front-end delivery. The impact you will have: - Own the platform that supports 1+ petabyte of intelligence products including batch processing, real-time, 24/7 API requirements - Build the next-generation of foundational AI architecture for blockchain intelligence infrastructure - Drive 10x improvement in the speed and overhead of getting new intelligence models and data products to customers - Lead and hire for two sub-teams spanning from data infrastructure through product-facing delivery, raising the bar on technical quality and AI fluency - Set the technical direction for production systems, making sound bets on architecture, tooling, and platform investments - Build platforms that accelerate DS team work; making it seamless and fast for data scientists to test and deliver intelligence data products What we're looking for: - 8+ years of hands-on data/engineering experience with 4+ years of direct people management - A player-coach who stays close to the technical work - reviewing architecture, debugging pipelines, making system design decisions - while also setting team strategy - Must have owned production systems at scale: customer-facing data products, APIs, or decisioning engines - not analytics or BI systems - Strong Python and SQL; experience with BigQuery, Airflow, data lake architecture, serving layers - Active daily user of AI tools to accelerate development and challenge assumptions - Good judgment; you'll be making decisions on the technological bets and investments that define TRM's platform About the Team: - The computational intelligence team builds the production data science capabilities that power TRM's intelligence products - This manager role owns the Blockchain Intel Product Pod and Intel Platform sub-teams, a cohesive unit spanning platform infrastructure through product delivery - Culture is high-trust, technically rigorous, fast-moving, direct, ownership-heavy, and AI-native Team Operating Rhythms: - Distributed, not distant: the team is primarily US-based and operates across EST/PST timezones - Async-first communication via Slack for day-to-day coordination; Notion and Jira for project tracking and documentation - Regular cross-functional syncs with public sector GTM, threat intelligence, and product teams to align on intelligence requirements and delivery timelines LIFE AT TRM We are building a safer world. That promise shows up in how we work every day. TRM moves quickly. We are a high velocity, high ownership team that expects clarity, follow-through, and impact. People who thrive here are energized by hard problems, experimentation, and continuous feedback. If something takes months elsewhere, it will ship here in days. Our work sits at the intersection of AI, national security, and fighting crime. The problems are complex, the stakes are real, and the environment evolves quickly. The pace and intensity of the work reflect the importance of the mission. As a result, the way we operate requires a high level of ownership, adaptability, collaboration, and creative problem-solving. At TRM, you should expect: - Priorities and targets to change quickly as we experiment and iterate - Work that often requires operating with a high degree of ambiguity - A high level of p
