WHY VEIR? Founded in 2019 and headquartered in Woburn, Massachusetts, VEIR is a U.S.-based designer and manufacturer of category-defining superconducting power delivery systems built for the extreme energy demands of the AI era. By commercializing next-generation superconducting technology into deployable, real-world systems, VEIR delivers ~10× higher power density than conventional options, enabling “speed-to-power” where incremental optimization falls short. VEIR’s initial focus is AI data centers behind the meter, with solutions engineered for repeatable deployment through reference designs and integrated controls, designed to incorporate learnings as deployments scale. The Role As a Software Developer on VEIR's Product team, you will join a small, cross-functional data analytics group building tools that directly shape how VEIR delivers value -- both internally and to external energy customers. Your primary focus is software development: designing and maintaining the backend systems, APIs, and data pipelines that power VEIR's analytics platform. You will also work closely with data on the secondary side, contributing to models, algorithms, and analytical outputs that inform product development and energy consulting services. This role is well-suited for a developer who has spent time in data-heavy environments -- energy tech, a data platform company, or a technically rigorous startup -- and who is comfortable moving between writing clean backend code and wrangling complex datasets. You will work directly with internal stakeholders across engineering, product, and business development, translating requirements into production-ready software. In the first 3 months you'll Ramp on VEIR's existing data infrastructure, codebase, and analytics tooling -- understanding current architecture, data sources, and outstanding technical debt. Contribute on bi-weekly sprints, developing incremental improvements to existing backend services or data pipelines. Build working relationships with key internal stakeholders across product, engineering, and business development to understand how tools are used. Establish proficiency with VEIR's cloud environment (GCP or Azure) and development workflows, including CI/CD and version control practices. Identify and document two to three near-term areas where backend or pipeline improvements would have the highest impact on data reliability or system performance. In the first 6 months you'll Own end-to-end development and delivery of at least one new feature or tooling component, from scoping through deployment. Design and implement improvements to data pipeline reliability, performance, or scalability based on findings from your initial ramp. Contribute meaningfully to secondary analytics work -- supporting or building models, algorithms, or statistical outputs that feed internal or external deliverables. Develop and maintain API integrations or backend services that internal stakeholders depend on for day-to-day analytics workflows. Participate actively in sprint planning, code reviews, and retrospectives, demonstrating consistent output and quality. By the end of the first year you will have Be a recognized owner of one or more significant components of VEIR's analytics platform -- backend services, data pipelines, or modeling infrastructure -- and be responsible for their ongoing reliability and improvement. Have shipped multiple production-quality features or tools that are actively used by internal stakeholders or incorporated into customer-facing deliverables. Demonstrate measurable improvement to data pipeline performance, reliability, or coverage within your owned domain. Contribute to the team's technical direction by surfacing architectural recommendations and helping evaluate technology choices. Maintain a track record of clear, consistent communication with non-technical stakeholders, translating technical work into actionable insights and status updates. To be successful in this role You
