ABOUT THE ROLE As a Senior Software Engineer II, Internal Systems at Biofire, you will help build and improve Biofire’s internal systems, partnering closely with system owners and cross-functional stakeholders to understand how our systems work today and where they break down. This role is accountable for turning ambiguity into clear technical plans and shipped solutions that remove meaningful manual work and close important data and traceability gaps. You’ll work across commercial platforms, custom applications, integrations, and data flows to build systems that are reliable, supportable, and practical for real operations. This is a hands-on engineering role with direct impact on how Biofire scales its workflows. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Day-to-day responsibilities of the role will include: - Work with system owners and cross-functional teams to understand internal workflows, current systems, pain points, and operational needs; - Develop practical technical plans for internal systems projects, including scope, approach, dependencies, and tradeoffs; - Build, improve, and maintain internal tools, integrations, and workflows that help teams operate more efficiently and with better information; - Connect commercial platforms and custom applications so business, manufacturing, and operations teams can rely on consistent workflows and data; - Improve existing systems by making them easier to operate, troubleshoot, and support; - Document system behavior, technical decisions, and handoff details clearly for the teams that use and maintain these systems; - Support changes to legacy workflows and systems as Biofire’s internal needs evolve.
