Sound Designer (Audio Designer / Sound Editor)

ROLE OVERVIEW StoryCo is looking for a talented Sound Designer with strong Pro Tools experience to join our creative team. In this role, you’ll be instrumental in shaping the audio experience of our video comics - transforming static 2D webcomics into immersive, multimedia storytelling. An ear for sound design and DAW-proficiency are top priorities, as you’ll be using it to edit, mix, and master voice performances, sound effects, and music into a polished final audio track. Working closely with a Story Producer, you’ll collaborate on the overall creative vision and be responsible for sourcing and implementing all audio elements. This includes selecting license-free music and SFX, processing voice actor performances, and delivering high-quality, fully mixed audio for each project. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES - Collaborate with Story Producer to align a shared creative vision for the soundscape of the story, while focusing creative energy on building the necessary audio elements. - Source story-appropriate sound effects and music via royalty-free libraries, or create new music and sound effects wherever necessary. - Edit and fine-tune audio components using tools like Pro Tools (preferred), Ableton Live, Nuendo, or similar platforms. - Mix voice performances from voice actors, master final audio tracks into high-quality episodes. - Maintain consistency and quality across all audio elements, ensuring that they enhance the immersive experience without overshadowing the visual components. - Assist in developing streamlined workflows for sourcing, editing, and integrating audio into multimedia stories. - Other related tasks assigned by the Manager. JOB REQUIREMENTS - Creative Ear: Strong sense of how sound effects, music, and voice elevate storytelling; experience in music, podcasts, or film/TV audio. - Technical Skills: Proficient in audio editing software (Pro Tools, Ableton, etc.); familiarity with voice libraries, audio generation tools, and royalty-free assets. Quick to learn new platforms. - Collaboration: Experienced working with cross-functional creative teams; clear communicator and team player. - Execution: Able to manage multiple projects with speed and quality; highly organized and deadline-driven. - Ownership: Proactive, problem-solving, and accountable from concept to completion; open to feedback and iteration. - Must have reliable personal equipment suitable for sound design work both in the office and when working from home. WORKING CONDITIONS - Employment Type: Full-time in office - Work Location: 177 Hai Ba Trung, Xuan Hoa Ward, Ho Chi Minh City - Working Hours: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM (GMT+7), Monday to Friday, with flexibility based on production needs and deadlines.
