We currently operate multiple elementary and middle schools across the Bronx, Upper Manhattan, and Queens, and plan to open 1–2 new schools each year – because children in every community deserve excellent, equitable education. Deliver powerful results To achieve our vision, we are searching for an English Teacher with a Bachelor’s degree (English-related degree preferred), and at least 1-2+ years of lead teaching experience (NY certification preferred), with a proven record of propelling extraordinary student growth. Responsibilities: Implement inquiry-driven, discussion-rich lessons that engage students in analyzing complex texts from diverse voices and global perspectives—developing critical thinking, empathy, and strong written and verbal communication. Demonstrate deep expertise in English Language Arts content and pedagogy , guiding students to master literary analysis, evidence-based argumentation, and clear, purposeful writing. Build a classroom culture where curiosity, dialogue, and creativity thrive—and where students feel empowered to share ideas, challenge assumptions, and see themselves reflected in literature. Serve as an Advisor to a small cohort of students, developing meaningful relationships with families and supporting each student’s personal and academic growth. Collaborate with colleagues to co-create a rigorous, joyful founding high school environment rooted in Zeta’s mission and values. Use data, feedback, and student work to assess reading comprehension, writing progress, and critical thinking—and continuously refine instruction. The salary range for this position is between $75,000 and $115,500.
