Business Development Manager (Hybrid) Unlike traditional sales roles, success in this position means influencing the future of an entire portfolio of software businesses. You will have front-row access to entrepreneurs, founders, and CEOs across a wide range of industries, gaining a unique perspective on how successful software companies are built, scaled, and operated. Every conversation is an opportunity to learn about a new market, uncover a hidden software champion, and create the foundation for Banyan’s next acquisition. You will play a critical role in Banyan Software’s sourcing efforts by identifying and engaging vertical market software companies, expanding our market coverage, building relationships with software business owners, and creating opportunities that ultimately lead to acquisitions. Reporting to the Director, Corporate Development, you will leverage your prospecting, relationship-building, and business development skills in a highly entrepreneurial environment. Your efforts will directly contribute to Banyan’s acquisition growth strategy. Responsibilities Identify, research, and evaluate attractive software companies that align with Banyan’s acquisition criteria. Develop and execute outbound prospecting strategies using email, phone, LinkedIn, industry events, and conferences. Build trusted relationships with software business owners, executives, and key decision-makers across assigned vertical markets. Create and manage ongoing engagement and nurturing programs to maintain long-term relationships with prospective acquisition targets. Conduct market research to improve Banyan’s coverage within strategic verticals and uncover new acquisition opportunities. Collaborate closely with M&A Leaders, Portfolio Leadership, and other Banyan teams to drive business outcomes and share market intelligence. Utilize Banyan’s technology stack, data resources, and best practices to continually improve sourcing effectiveness and efficiency. Maintain accurate records and activity tracking in Salesforce, Gong Engage, and other internal systems. Consistently achieve and exceed activity, pipeline, and sourcing KPIs. Qualifications 4+ years of experience in business development, software sales, account management, partnerships, recruiting, commercial banking, consulting, or a related client-facing role.
