We’re on a mission to make migration easy. We started building Marshmallow in 2017. Since then, we’ve grown from 3 to 700+ people, gained unicorn status, raised ~£140M over three funding rounds, turned profitable, insured millions of drivers and lent millions in car loans. But we’re only just getting started. Our goal is to become one of the largest financial services providers in the world. Over the next 10 years we’ll grow exponentially, not only by scaling our existing products, but also by building new ones. To achieve our goals we need incredibly ambitious, commercially driven people who never settle for ‘good enough’. Marshmallowers are hungry for autonomy and ownership, and would rather improve than coast. Everyone raises standards and has an impact, with a focus on collective success over self-interest. We’ve created an environment where curious, tenacious people win and grow together. If that sounds motivating, this could be the place for you. The Role This is a senior leadership position at the heart of Marshmallow’s Group Finance function, reporting directly to the Group CFO. This is emphatically a Group role — you will own FP&A not just at consolidated level but across each of our regulated entities: MIL (Gibraltar-regulated insurer), MFSL (FCA regulated broker), and MCSL (consumer credit lender), as well as all further group entities as the business grows. Each regulated entity has its own Board, its own financial profile, and its own reporting cadence, and you will be the person who makes sure each one has the financial insight and support it needs — in addition to the Group Board. Beyond the Group consolidation, you will act as the primary finance business partner to each entity’s leadership, ensuring that Board KPI packs, budget sign-offs, and performance reporting are delivered to a consistently high standard — and that the Group CFO always has a clear, accurate picture of how every part of the business is performing. In addition, you will build Marshmallow’s Procurement function from the ground up — designing the framework, governance, and tooling that will support our next phase of growth. As you establish yourself in the role, there is a deliberate and supported path to take on treasury and investments responsibilities, making this one of the broadest and most developmental Director-level finance roles available in the UK insurtech market. We are also at the point of launching Planful as our Group FP&A platform, and we want someone who arrives energised by that — ready to shape how it embeds across the business and what it unlocks for the finance team. The Group CFO has a clear vision for the Finance function: to build something genuinely innovative and AI-led — a function that uses technology not as a support tool but as a core part of how we plan, analyse, and make decisions. We are looking for someone who shares that ambition, who thinks actively about what AI can do for FP&A, and who has the drive and practical capability to deliver the change needed to make that vision a reality. Key Responsibilities FP&A Leadership — Group & Entity Level - Own the Group’s annual budget and rolling forecast cycles, building plans at both Group consolidated level and for each regulated entity: MIL, MFSL, and MCSL - Serve as the primary FP&A business partner to each entity’s leadership team, ensuring every regulatory Board has the financial insight and KPI reporting it requires - Design and maintain a suite of entity-level and Group Board KPI packs, tailored to the regulatory context, strategic priorities, and audience of each entity - Lead monthly and quarterly financial performance reviews, providing clear, actionable commentary to the Group CFO and SLT - Build and maintain financial models supporting strategic planning, scenario analysis, and capital allocation across the Group - Partner with business unit GMs and functional leads to translate commercial activity into financial outcomes at both entity and Group level
