Mission Lane is combining the power of data, technology, and exceptional service to pave a clear way forward for millions of people on the path to financial success. By attracting top talent and leveraging cutting-edge technology, we’re enabling people to unlock real financial progress. Sound like a mission you can get behind? Mission Lane has made a serious, sustained investment in building a best-in-class collections capability. The roadmap calls for the kind of senior operational leadership that turns that investment into results. That’s where you come in. We're looking for a career collections leader who has transformed an operation, earned credibility beyond the organizations they've worked for, and is ready to do it again, to join us as Director, Collections & Recoveries. You'll report to the VP, Collections & Recoveries and partner closely with colleagues across Analytics, Finance, and Operations. The impact you'll make: In your first year, you'll deliver a comprehensive maturity roadmap for the in-house live agent collections function and start executing against it. You'll build out the performance management infrastructure, strengthening baselines, establishing feedback cycles, and setting clear expectations at every level of the team. And you'll show early, credible progress toward substantially improving collections outcomes, with a clear plan in place for the next two years. You'll thrive in this role if: You've spent your career in collections. You're the person others call when the problem is hard, and your credibility extends beyond the organizations you've worked for. You've rebuilt or significantly transformed a collections operation before and can speak in specific terms about what changed, what you did, and what the numbers looked like after. You've led through the ambiguity of a function that's changing shape, and you didn't wait for someone to hand you a plan. You built one. Minimum Qualifications: 10+ years of progressive collections experience, with a demonstrated track record of building high-performing teams and delivering measurable results Proven ability to turn organizational objectives into structured operational plans with defined milestones, resource allocations, and accountability frameworks Experience leading collections teams, with a demonstrated ability to sustain performance standards and team engagement in a distributed environment Recognized as a functional authority in collections, with expertise and credibility that extends beyond a single organization Substantial experience leading through organizational change and transformation; a track record of driving material performance improvements in complex, high-accountability environments Deep knowledge of collections best practices, performance management methodologies, and compliance requirements in a consumer financial services context Background in an in-house collections operation, third-party collections agency, large debt buyer or national collections agency Ability to travel as required, approximately 6+ times per year (primarily Richmond, VA) Compensation: Annual full-time starting base salary range: $146,000-$189,000 This role is eligible for additional compensation in the forms of participation in our annual incentive and equity programs. Pay is based on factors such as work experience, education, certification(s), training, skills, and competencies related to the role. Mission Lane also offers a comprehensive benefits plan, which includes paid time off, 401(k) match, a monthly wellness stipend, health/dental/vision insurance options, disability coverage, paid parental leave, flexible spending account (for childcare and healthcare), life insurance, and a remote-friendly work environment. About Mission Lane: Founded in December 2018, Mission Lane is a purpose-driven fintech company based in the U.S., with headquarters in Richmond, Virginia. It all started with a realization: nearly fifty percent of the adult population in the U.S.
