About the Role We are seeking a full-time Sanitation Supervisor to join our Ready-to-Eat meals production facility. Reporting to the FSQA Manager and National Sanitation Manager, this role is responsible for overseeing all sanitation operations to ensure the facility consistently meets food safety, sanitation, and regulatory standards. The Sanitation Supervisor will lead daily sanitation activities across the plant while driving continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, efficiency, and compliance. This role is responsible for managing, coaching, and developing a team of sanitation leads and associates, while partnering cross-functionally with Production, FSQA, Maintenance, and external sanitation contractors to support operational excellence. Notes on Schedule: This role's working hours are Wednesday to Saturday from 3:30 pm to 2:00 am. This is a 100% in-person role, meaning you will be required to come to our Distribution Center located at 3520 Laird Road Mississauga, L5L 5Z7 What you will be doing: Oversee, coach, and develop a team of in-house sanitation leads and associates, ensuring strong performance, accountability, and compliance with food safety and sanitation standards. Deliver training and ongoing coaching on chemical handling, equipment use, SSOPs, and general sanitation practices, and develop and maintain a structured sanitation training program aligned with company and regulatory requirements. Build and manage sanitation labour planning, including scheduling, timesheet review and approval, and performance management, while acting as a key sanitation representative to site leadership. Ensure a safe and sanitary work environment by enforcing proper cleaning, sanitation, chemical handling, equipment use, and housekeeping standards across the facility. Support timely production start-up by ensuring all areas and equipment are cleaned and sanitized according to established schedules. Maintain appropriate inventory levels of cleaning chemicals and sanitation supplies, and ensure sanitation equipment and systems are maintained through adherence to preventive maintenance and monitoring programs. Maintain and track the Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS) in collaboration with Production, FSQA, Maintenance, and Health & Safety teams. Monitor and report key sanitation metrics, including pre-operational inspections, MSS adherence, and Environmental Monitoring Program (EMP) results. Conduct and participate in seek-and-destroy activities and other food safety verification programs as required to identify and eliminate potential risks. Ensure all sanitation activities comply with HACCP principles, company standards, and applicable regulatory requirements. Develop, revise, and maintain SSOPs in alignment with facility equipment, infrastructure, and operational needs. Partner with third-party sanitation contractors and chemical suppliers to troubleshoot issues, eliminate root causes of non-conformities, and support continuous improvement. Conduct quarterly performance evaluations of third-party sanitation contractors and chemical suppliers. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance sanitation effectiveness, efficiency, and overall food safety performance. All other related duties as assigned. At a minimum, you have: Post-secondary education in Food Science, Biological Sciences, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience in sanitation within a food manufacturing environment. Minimum 3 years of sanitation experience within food manufacturing, including at least 2 years in a supervisory role. Work experience in CFIA-inspected RTE facilities preferred. Experience working in high-risk/high-care food manufacturing environments, including Ready-to-Eat (RTE) and meat processing facilities, is considered a strong asset.
