Location: 4951 - 110 Avenue SE, Calgary, Alberta Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM - fully on-site (required flexibility to work weekends) About the Role The Health and Safety Manager is responsible for building a safety culture and strong engagement on site, developing and implementing safety programs in partnership with site leadership, facilitating safety training, and instilling a safety-first mindset. The Health and Safety Manager reports directly to the Senior Manager, National Health and Safety, and will collaborate closely with the Site Director. This is a new, exciting and growing site, which is starting off small. The Health and Safety Manager will be the sole health and safety practitioner, and will be instrumental in building, shaping, and guiding the safety culture growth. What you will be doing: Contribute to a strong, continuously improving, safety-first culture through employee engagement, strong health and safety management programs, and training Work with Leadership to develop health and safety management systems and the associated rollout and facilitated training to ensure continued growth opportunities for the organization Lead health and safety audits, routine site checks, and closing of compliance gaps to establish high safety standards and compliance with HelloFresh and OHS requirements Partner with site management to proactively identify, assess, analyze, and mitigate job hazards; and establish high effectiveness of controls and processes to eliminate safety risks Engage, motivate, and train employees on safety roles and responsibilities, accountabilities, and processes to maintain a safe workplace Oversee incident investigations, reporting, and management, develop root cause analysis and mentor operational personnel in its processes. Oversee injury management, WCB claim management, and Return-to-Work (RTW) processes. Lead safety reporting; ensure high transparency and visibility to safety metrics and alerts on site Oversee onboarding and on the job safety training programs for employees Work with operations to develop and mentor an effective Joint Health and Safety committee Monitor existing and incoming relevant legislation and regulations to ensure the site meets requirements and that health and safety management programs are up to date with leadership Work in compliance with Provincial OH&S acts, regulations, and legislation, Industry best practice, and internal Policy and Procedure Use personal protective and safety equipment and clothing as directed by the employer and report workplace hazards and dangers to the supervisor or employer. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the H&S Sr. Manager At a minimum, you have: Completed post-secondary education in Health and Safety (Certificate, Diploma, Degree), or related field or equivalent work experience Professional Health and Safety Designation (CRSP, CRST, CSP, ASP, CMIOSH) is preferred. 5+ years of work experience required in Health and Safety including experience with positive leadership influence. Demonstrated experience in providing high quality customer experience, building a safety culture, communicating to get team member buy-in Excellent organizational skills with ability to perform administrative tasks with high degree of accuracy Excellent communication skills (written and verbal), including active listening and proofreading Ability to perform at a high level in a fast paced and dynamic work environment Ability to demonstrate good, sound judgment Availability to work weekend schedules and in temperature controlled (it’s food, so it’s cold!) facilities Experience with Google Suite (Calendar, Gmail, Docs, Sheets), and video conferencing (Hangouts Meet) What you’ll get in return: Competitive salary and health benefits 75% discount on HelloFresh or Chefs Plate weekly box subscription High impact work to help feed thousands of families in Canada Opportunity to learn and grow Work with a hard-working and supportive team Wo
