About the Young Professionals Program One Acre Fund’s Young Professionals Program offers high-performing African graduates meaningful internships and training opportunities at a high-performing, mission-driven organization. Our internships are paid and all interns can expect to receive substantive work assignments working on high-impact projects that support One Acre Fund's operations. When joining, interns will participate in an onboarding program and receive training on how to design and execute projects. About the Role Seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented legal professional or recent LL.B graduate to gain hands-on experience in legal research, investigations, evidence review, and professional drafting within a fast-paced and dynamic operational environment. Responsibilities Case Assessment & Evidence Management Case Evaluation: Support the review of new and ongoing cases to identify the nature of allegations, establish background context, and break down complex matters into clear investigative issues. Information Analysis: Review and organize case documents, records, and correspondence into structured, easy-to-analyze formats. Critical Review: Proactively identify and highlight inconsistencies, missing information, or areas requiring further clarification within case files. Investigative Support & Documentation Material Preparation: Assist in drafting essential investigative tools, including interview questions, case summaries, and briefing notes. Factual Record Keeping: Document interviews and key findings accurately to contribute to a coherent, objective factual record for each case. Operational Support: Assist the team with day-to-day investigative and administrative tasks as assigned. Legal Research & Analysis Targeted Research: Conduct focused legal research on matters relevant to assigned cases. Legal Summaries: Synthesize and summarize applicable legal principles in a clear, well-structured manner. Fact-to-Law Mapping: Support the team in linking established facts to relevant legal issues under senior supervision. Drafting & Reporting First Drafts: Prepare structured initial drafts of Investigation Plans, progress updates, final reports, and legal memoranda. Iterative Refinement: Participate actively in team discussions and revise drafts based on feedback to meet institutional standards.
