Remora is seeking a Structural Engineering Manager to lead the design, analysis, and development of structural systems. This role will drive structural engineering efforts end-to-end, oversee the analysis and validation of components and assemblies, and provide technical leadership in design decisions. The manager will collaborate cross-functionally with various teams to ensure solutions meet performance, safety, and cost requirements. We're building modular carbon capture systems for vehicles — turning exhaust into beverage-grade CO2 sold to breweries and greenhouses. We deploy in regions facing severe CO2 shortages, where prices are highest, allowing us to generate high margins without tax credits or carbon credits. We've signed up some of the largest companies in the world to pilot our technology, including iconic multibillion-dollar brands, top trucking companies, and some of the most recognizable Fortune 100 companies. We’ve raised multiple rounds of funding from top investors like Lowercarbon Capital, Union Square Ventures, First Round Capital, Y Combinator, and Valor Equity Partners. Responsibilities: Design and develop scalable software solutions, writing clean, efficient code using Object Oriented Programming Languages (OOP) including Java, TypeScript, SQL, or similar. Analyze and resolve complex software issues, optimizing applications for performance, scalability, and reliability. Collaborate closely with product, design, and operations teams to align technical solutions with business objectives and effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Lead and mentor junior engineers by providing technical guidance, code reviews, and support for best practices in software development and system design. Contribute to system architecture design and reviews, making decisions that improve scalability, maintainability, and performance. Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support automated testing, integration, and deployment processes. Stay current with emerging technologies, evaluating and adopting new tools to solve business challenges and improve engineering efficiency. Develop and maintain technical documentation, including system designs, APIs, and user guides to support long-term system maintenance and knowledge sharing. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Systems Technology, Data Science, or a related field. 4+ years of experience developing scalable web applications and APIs, leading software projects, contributing to technical architecture, and implementing new technologies and engineering best practices. 2+ years of experience in any of the following: Version control, managing branches, resolving merge conflicts, and conducting code reviews on GitHub or GitLab. Experience using containerization and orchestration tools, including Docker and Kubernetes, to build, deploy, Here’s what we value: Mission First: We are laser-focused on our mission. We have chosen to take on the defining challenge of our time, and we don’t shy away from the hard decisions required to put our mission first, no matter how tough. The world needs our technology and it won’t happen any time soon if we don’t make it happen. We are a low-ego team, and we prioritize the mission over our self-interest. We think strategically with an eye to the long term, and we clearly separate what must be done well now, and what can be improved later, despite ambiguity. Burning Urgency: Our hard-core intensity and work ethic match the crisis we’re in. We have a strong bias toward action, and we execute with focus and speed. In the absence of guidance, we take charge, lead our teammates, and accomplish our goals. We aren’t afraid to change course when something isn’t working, and we find solutions even when it seems like there are none. We are cool under pressure, and our quiet determination and drive are unwavering. We relentlessly push ourselves and each other to improve. We don’t accept
