Join our highly skilled team of developers - breaking new ground and shaping the future of retail. We dare to dream big, we have the courage to keep raising the bar, and we’re committed to being a force for good in retail - helping both established and fast-growing brands meet the ever-changing expectations of their customers. Sitoo is a fast-growing technology company exploring how far we can take innovation to deliver the world’s best Unified Commerce Platform and Point of Sale. Our technology is used in more than 20 countries - a number that keeps growing thanks to our incredible team of engineers. And we have no intention of slowing down. Are you the Senior Software Engineer we’re looking for? Your mission at Sitoo As a Senior Software Engineer at Sitoo , you’ll be part of a small, autonomous team responsible for backend services that power our platform. This is not a role where you “hand over” code - you design, build, deploy, operate, and improve your services end-to-end. A big part of your work will be making thoughtful technical decisions: choosing the right patterns, improving system architecture, and ensuring that what we build is reliable, scalable, and maintainable over time. You’ll work primarily in AWS, using modern practices such as infrastructure as code, automated testing, and CI/CD to deliver quickly without compromising quality. You’ll also play an important role in how we evolve as an engineering organization - contributing to best practices, raising the bar for reliability and observability, and helping the team make sound trade-offs. About the team Team PromoStock, Promotion & Campaigns, powers the two biggest drivers of retail success: dynamic promotions and real-time inventory. We are a cross-functional team that turns messy logistics into scalable software, syncing stock and executing complex campaigns across physical and digital stores. We prioritize shipping practical solutions over over-engineering. If you want to build fast, intuitive tools that have an immediate impact in the physical world, we’d love to have you on the team. What you’ll work with In this role, you’ll design and operate low-latency backend services, working across both synchronous APIs and asynchronous, event-driven systems. You’ll integrate with internal and third-party systems, and ensure that services behave well under real-world load. You’ll continuously improve how systems perform in production - reducing latency, increasing resilience, and strengthening observability through logging, metrics, and alerting. When incidents happen, you take part in understanding root causes and driving long-term fixes, not just quick patches. Security and efficiency are also part of the job: building systems with least-privilege access, secure defaults, and a conscious approach to AWS cost and performance. What you bring to the table You are an experienced engineer who takes ownership beyond just writing code. You care about how systems behave in production and continuously look for ways to improve them. Therefore, we believe that you have: Strong backend development experience with Node.js or similar Proven experience building scalable and reliable cloud services Solid understanding of distributed systems and asynchronous architectures Experience with infrastructure as code and modern CI/CD practices Experience designing and integrating APIs A product-oriented mindset with a focus on real user value Just as importantly, you bring a strong sense of ownership. You approach problems in a structured and pragmatic way, communicate clearly, and collaborate well with others. You care about building systems that not only work today, but continue to work tomorrow. Bonus points Experience with AWS services such as SQS, SNS, DynamoDB, Lambda, or Aurora will help you get up to speed quickly, as will familiarity with Docker or Kubernetes in production environments. If you’ve worked with high-traffic or low-latency systems, or have experience with identity,
